Getting There.. ( Or anywhere for the matter)
GPS & A CAR

Day 1 - The Ba Kwa Escapade
"Ba Kwas never make it out of Perth's airport. EVER."
Challenge accepted.
Bought a vacuumed packed 450gm packet of Ba Kwa from Bee Cheng Hiang and tripped with this bad boy.
...
5 Hours later, upon arrival at Perth International Airport

I bump into the usual Ba Kwa addict enthusiastically screaming "SINGAPORE? Declare BA KWA here".
With fingers crossed, I declared my box of precious Ba Kwa.
...
30 mins later, after thorough checking of Mr ba kwa's packaging, we were free to go.
Whoohoo!

#BakwaTripsToPerth

Day 2 - Rottness Escapade (Fremantle > Rottness)
Caught a ride on Rottness Express < Click for ferry timings and pricing
Spent the first couple minutes rushing through lunch (check out hugeass Fish&Chips in photo) and half an hour trying to track Quokkas by following poop traces; which really wasn't necessary as these marsupials can be found throughout the island.

Took a 1.4km walk from the Pier to "The Basin"
Totally worth it.

And uhh..  keep off the cliffs. I had palpitations snapping the following photos.

Random "sing-along" sesh in the car while heading from Freo to Armadale

A post shared by Cheryl Alexander Valdis☾ (@eatprayandnamasteh) on

Walked about Armadale in search for food and came across this bong shop called Could 9
They didn't sell weed, still pretty cool nonetheless.

A post shared by Cheryl Alexander Valdis☾ (@eatprayandnamasteh) on

After snacking on a ton of chicken, we headed to Brass Monkey Hotel (Bar) for a couple rounds of shots before ?partying out? at Club Air.Would rate the whole experience a 6/10.
Add a point to that for cheap booze.
To be fair, Perth isn't know for its nightlife and I come from SG;
The land of bakwa, shit-good food, expensive booze, nightlife and drunken SPGs.

Total Damage Breakdown:

Entrace to Air (Before 9pm) Aud 5
1 glass of Cape Codder (Cranberry Vodka) Aud 10
2 Jaager shots at Brass Monkey Aud 36
5 Tequila pops (shots) at Brass Monkey Aud 50
Metered Fare Back to Armadale Aud75

Day 4 MORNING
I woke up to a massive hangover (thanks to Tequila. Bad Tequila, Bad) along with a box of aromatic half eaten Bok Bok Chickens.
I was told that the shop wasn't called Bok Bok .. whatever. It clearly says "Bok Bok" on the box.
Wasted my morning away.
Not too proud of it.

Day 4  EVENING
Evening was a little more eventful, met a friend for some drinks and sh*tty movies.

HOW TO BE SINGLE

Ahh Rebel Wilson.
Gotta love her.
Talk about cool cribs
Yes, I did that. Just randomly added in that line. BECAUSE I CAN.

So level 1 happens to be an automobile workshop (aka. the place where I can surgically remove your kidneys to sell in the black market)  and level 2 the living, kitchen and bedroom. Yep. Took a pic of le friend's place. Not creepy at all.

Day 5 - Breakfast By The Bay (The Foreshore) & The Range (Belmont)
Breakfast at 12pm ✔
Hot Cocoa with Floaty Marshmallows ✔
Berries & Pancakes with Mascarpone Cream ✔
^ best shit on earth

Thanks Michael 😺

 Lone Ranges Shooting Complex

Evening
Took long a** drive from Armadale to the City (35 mins)
Got HANGRY along the way and came across this magical Kebab store which had the baddest Steak Kebabs on the planet.
Sauce to add: Chilli
Sauce to add now and regret later: Onion (I died choking on my own fart that night)
Damage: Worth it Aud 9
Plus point: TURKISH DELIGHTS at Aud 2 & Cheese Fries Aud 6
Walk along the streets of Perth and came across this eerie Synagogue and Fire station.
Yep, I know what you're thinking - "Obviously, idiot, who the hell does that at 10pm on a Sunday.. In Perth?"

A post shared by Cheryl Alexander Valdis☾ (@eatprayandnamasteh) on

12MN-ish?
We're back at Nicole's place (yes, I've stayed at 3 different homes this trip.. fackin' freeloading Hobo)
"I am cow, here me moo, eat my steak and I'll make your fart smell like poo"
Remember when I said "Onion Sauce, enjoy now, suffer later"?
We had the whole "Hot Box"experience going on. Definitely LIVING THE LIFE.

Day Oh-Fack-It's-Time-To-fly-Home
Blasted 9am flights
Got up at 6am to pack and... poof.

I'm out of Perth. 💔

The MANDATORY Survival Guide: South Jakarta

Jakarta, Indonesia's massive capital, sits on the northwest coast of the island of Java.
A historic mix of cultures – Javanese, Malay, Chinese, Arab, Indian and European – has influenced its architecture, language and cuisine.
The old town, Kota Tua, is home to Dutch colonial buildings, Glodok (Jakarta’s Chinatown) and the old port of Sunda Kelapa, where traditional wooden schooners dock.
Population:9.608 million (2010)
Language: Bahasa (Indonesia)
Where I'm Heading To: Kuningan City

Prior to tripping in Jakarta, always remember to prepare a list of translated phrases which you might WILL need.

The Mandatory Survival Guide

Right off the Plane, into a BLUE BIRD (Taxi) *will explain in a bit
Prep 70,000 Rupiahs for tolls
Sir, I want to go to ___ - Mas, saya pergi ___
Turn Right - belok kanan
Turn Left- belok kiri
Go straight- jalan lurus
How much - berapa (ber ah pe)
Thank you- Terima kasih
Addressing waitstaff
Sir/ Bro (informal) - Mas
Sir/ Senior (formal)- BaPak
Miss/ Sis (informal)- Kak
Madam/senior (formal) - Ibu
Ordering
I would like to order now- Saya ingin memesan sekarang
Can I have (I want) - saya mau
1, 2, 3 - Satu, dua, tigga
Asking
Do you have- Anda memiliki / Anda (for short)
How much? (cost) - berapa
Where is - dimane ( not "De mane", it's di-ma-ner)
Go / walk -Pergi / Jalan
Go where- Pergi mane
Ashtray- asbak (because you can smoke in some restaurants)
Water- air (no, not AIR. Ai- Air)
Tissue - Tisue
Toilet - Jamban
Thank you - terima kasih
Traveling to the airport (best by uber, prep Rupiah 70,000 for tolls)
I am going to the airport -saya akan ke bandara
Drop me off at exit _ (E for budget airlines to singapore) - turun saya di keluar_
Thank you- Terima Kasih

*So why Blue Bird Cabs and not silver bird, or black bird (though you might have jungle fever)?
1. Blue Bird is the most frequently used form of transport
2. The other birds OVER CHARGE/ are premium cabs

What's good in the hood?
1. My brest friend lives there so Jakarta happens to be THE hangout spot
2. Kuningan City Mall is linked to Denpasar Residence. Hotels in this area is a waste of money. I recommend renting an apartment here.
3. Swimming pool, Gym, F&B and NIGHTCLUB all in 1 building. What more could you possibly ask for?
4. GoJek; this app is THE BOMB.  Massage, delivery & other services.
Having a massive hangover from a nightout with.. the neighbours? use Gojek!
Sgd 10 for a 30mins massage.
Sgd 15 for KFC bucket of 8 + dranks
5. Starbucks; because we all need a little "fancy" in life
6. Madicure, Padicure, Perms and shiz - spoil yourself silly without having to leave the building
7. Shopping - not exactly great for high fashion goods, but shops here are pretty decent.
If you're looking for Coach, Dr Martens, Massimo Dutti, Pull& Bear, Topman G2000, H&M, Lacoste.. etc, flag a BlueBird and head down to Grand Indonesia Mall

This photo does Denpasar Res no justice.

Trust me, it's definitely worth the stay.

If you've been to DWP's pre-party at Bang Bang, you'd know that the Ismaya Group has a list of the sickest DJs in town.
DragonFly -South Jakarta
Skye - Central Jakarta
